Our swift journey through South Carolina followed the final round at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. Crossing the state line into Columbia, South Carolina, we indulged in a delightful dinner featuring fresh fish and the famous pimento cheese sandwiches. Why pimento cheese? Locals insisted it was a must-try, tracing its popularity in the South back to a time when the cheese didn't spoil at room temperature, making it perfect for textile workers. After a visit to the Capitol the next day, we headed north for new adventures in North Carolina.
