The Baugh family Mississippi chapter seamlessly continued our Southern journey from Memphis, Tennessee. We cruised down to Jackson, Mississippi, learning the history held within the old and new State Capitol buildings, still adorned with remnants of the Civil War. Post Capitol exploration, we stumbled upon the renowned Hal and Mal’s. Immersing ourselves in full Southern style, we relished the savory flavors of bayou gumbo and blackened catfish. The ambiance was set by the soulful strains of the traditional spiritual rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In," performed by a local jazz band. Mississippi's hospitality, as always, was second to none.
